Last week, Aquatica Orlando joined hundreds of aquatic centers, pools and water parks around the globe, including our sister parks Aquatica San Antonio and Water Country USA, in the World’s Largest Swimming Lesson.
More than 100 children joined us at one of our wave pools (turned off, of course!) in an attempt to set the world record. After completing their swim lesson each child received an official certificate and admission to splash the day away at Aquatica Orlando.
Drowning is the second leading cause of accidental death of children ages one to fourteen. Research shows that if a child doesn't learn to swim before the third grade, they likely never will. The World's Largest Swimming Lesson is designed to draw attention to this issue, and encourage participation in swimming lesson programs. Tens of thousands of kids and adults at aquatic facilities around the world united this week for the fifth year in a row to try to set a new Guinness World Record.
If you missed this year’s World’s Largest Swimming Lesson don’t worry because Aquatica, SeaWorld's Waterpark, places a heavy emphasis on learning to swim. Swim lessons are offered at Aquatica Orlando every Saturday through the summer and are taught by water safety instructors who can teach several skill levels, so your children can easily build confidence in the water! The best part? The lessons are a bargain at just $49.
Little swimmers will love learning basic aquatic skills like blowing bubbles and treading water, while advanced swimmers will focus on specific skills like arm strokes and leg kicks, as well as some emergency assist techniques.
Aquatica, SeaWorld’s waterpark is proud to host this incredible event every year to help bring attention to water safety. To discover more about Aquatica Orlando, follow us on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube.
